Soldera is an authorized EKOenergy seller, enabling customers across Europe to access EKOenergy-labelled energy attribute certificates (see full list of authorized EKOenergy sellers here).

EKOenergy is the world's most widely adopted energy ecolabel, used in over 80 countries and managed by a network of environmental NGOs. Supporting it reinforces initiatives that prioritize credibility, additionality, and integrity - core elements of Soldera's approach to building infrastructure within renewable energy certificate markets.

Beyond standard renewable energy tracking, EKOenergy-labelled electricity necessitates that strict sustainability criteria are upheld. It specifies that wind and solar installations cannot be located in protected areas like nature reserves, whilst hydropower facilities must ensure that fish migration routes and ecological water flows are not disrupted.

Each MWh of EKOenergy generates €0.10 for renewable energy projects in developing countries and €0.08 for promoting renewable energy globally. In addition, every MWh sold of EKOenergy-labelled hydropower means an additional €0.10 to river restoration projects.

As an authorized seller, Soldera can now offer customers the choice between standard Guarantees of Origin (without the assurances offered by quality labels) and EKOenergy-labelled certificates, determined where eligible from from our aggregated portfolio of 3,000+ production sites. This distinction allows buyers in the Soldera network to demonstrate higher environmental ambition when procuring renewable energy - making the active choice to support biodiversity protection and climate action through the EKOenergy funds.

Soldera currently offers EKOenergy wind and solar certificates, with compatibility verified through our AI-powered backend. Contact us for EKOenergy, or join our tender list to receive our EKOenergy offerings straight to your inbox.

Guarantees of Origin can only be traded for the first 12 months after the moment of production, so it does not make sense to wait long.
