How Energy Solutions Group brought complex Belgian GO operations into one operating layer

Energy Solutions Group centralized fragmented Belgian GO workflows across regions, SPVs, contracts, and registry requirements with Soldera.

Where It Started

Energy Solutions Group is the largest independent green energy producer in the Benelux. ESG's multinational portfolio of renewable assets partially spans a bureaucratically complex, federalised country, and their GO operations were proving operationally burdensome as a result.

They came to Soldera needing:

  • A clean, cross-border workspace with functional integrations
  • A single source of truth for devices, SPVs, certificates, and revenue
  • A unified, efficient sales channel with pooled sales volumes

ESG also sought to protect their commercial flexibility: some volumes could move through Soldera's sales channels, but others were already committed to existing buyers, and direct trades still needed to be possible, which is exactly the kind of multifaceted producer-side problem Soldera routinely optimises.

The Friction

Belgium is a unique case. It's the only country in Europe with more than one issuing body for AIB EECS-GOs , totalling four. ESG assets were registered across three of the four operators : Flanders, Brussels, and Wallonia.

Further complexity came from ESG's corporate structure:

  • Assets were held across multiple SPVs
  • Some had pre-sold volumes or existing contracts
  • Each registry handles SPVs and subsidiaries differently, with varying degrees of consolidation allowed

How Soldera Helped

Soldera's registry integrations cover Belgium in full. The Soldera platform turns a messy, multi-region setup (each with different rules, logins, and operational behaviours around issuance, transfer, and cancellation) into a single workspace that mirrors all registry behaviours in our app.

For ESG, Soldera's platform was set up to:

  • Provide full visibility of SPVs and corporate subsidiaries across the portfolio
  • Configured signed deals and handled Belgian sales
  • Distinguished existing commitments from available spot volume
  • Enabled team-wide access for ESG's asset-management division

The Outcome For Energy Solutions Group

ESG moved from scattered regional registry work to a single workspace for Belgian GO management. Flanders and Brussels SPVs were linked to the Soldera platform, available volumes could be monitored and sold, and ESG's asset management team gained total visibility over which GOs were committed, available, awaiting issuance, or tied to specific delivery obligations.

Constant visibility is a strategic priority for any multinational producer. For teams handling institutional-scale production, eliminating rogue "catch-up-time" creates value in multiple ways:

  • Cumulative savings from eliminating manual platform-hopping and back-office work
  • Complete team alignment thanks to unlimited Soldera seats under one account
  • Automations remove needless communications with registries

The collaboration gave ESG a clear, practical route for Belgian certificate operations, and Soldera continues to work actively with ESG on new feature requests, market expansion, and platform upgrades - we're immensely grateful to have a direct line to the ideas and pain points of market leaders.

“ESG approached Soldera with a large portfolio of assets across Belgium - a unique country with 4 separate registry operators. Soldera's platform integrates with the three registries that we needed, and helped us turn GO management across our Belgian SPVs into a clean dashboard and monthly sales process. The platform gives us portfolio-wide visibility and allows our own management where needed. We don't see a comparable solution on the market for complex renewable asset management.”

“ESG's Belgian portfolio was a prime example of how the Soldera team can act swiftly to implement complex requirements. Overall, it was a really fun project. It's always insightful to observe the needs of leading renewable producers in real time, and it makes our product better by the day. In the end, Soldera proved that our platform can integrate with any renewable energy registry.”
