What are
Guarantees of Origin?
Guarantees of Origin (GOs) are tradable certificates that document renewable electricity consumption in European markets.
Renewable energy producers recieve 1 GO for each 1 MWh that they put into the European electricity grid. These certificates can then be traded on the open market, where organizations can purchase and use them (referred to as "canceling GOs") in order to prove the origin of the electricity they consumed.
